Luckily, SNSD member and amateur film critic Tiffany Hwang did see 50 Shades of Grey and her non-review review of the movie does a better job savaging the film than any essay possibly could.
Tiffany was on SBS’s ‘One Night of TV Entertainment’ with Taeyeon and Seohyun and the host asked if Tiffany had read any good books recently.
Her response was GOLD:
“I reread ‘Fifty Shades of Grey’ and even watched the movie. The music in the movie was really good.”
First, she REREAD 50 Shades of Grey, meaning that Tiffany has read the book and all of its awkward lines and phrasing about an unhealthy BDSM relationship at least twice.
Second, the only thing that she could say at the movie, good or bad, was that the music was nice. That’s the equivalent of complimenting a restaurant solely for its cutlery. That’s some good ass shade right there.
If you were on the fence about seeing the film (although I think everyone who wanted to see it has dragged their significant other to see it by now), hopefully Tiffany’s opinions will help factor into your decision.
(As an aside, as much as I hate to admit it, the 50 Shades of Grey soundtrack does have some nice tunes on it that I jam to every now and again. The Weeknd’s “Earned It” and Ellie Goulding’s “Love Me Like You Do” are pretty good. Beyonce’s “Crazy in Love” remix is… not.)
