Lee Kaeun, better known as simply Kaeun, is a South Korean idol dancer, singer, rapper (when Nana is unavailable) and model. She is best known for being the most current maknae of K-Pop group After School.
Kaeun’s addition to After School hasn’t been as noteworthy as some of After School’s other roster changes. Part of that is due to the fact that her debut was quickly overshadowed by Kahi’s “graduation” from the group. Part of it was undoubtedly due to the fact that After School seems to rotate in someone new more often than the seasons change. Hell, part of it may be the fact that After School has seemingly hit a home run with every new addition (UEE, Raina, Nana, Lizzy and E-Young) that Kaeun hasn’t had the time necessary to stand out of that ridiculous collection of otherworldly goodness (and yes, part of it is the fact that After School can’t seem to claw their way to the top, no matter how hard they try). And yet, After School’s new resident maknae has managed to kill whatever concept After School has thrown her way, whether it be pole dancing for “First Love” or doing a food program with E-Young.
Girl’s quickly established herself as a pro. She’s on her way to becoming a master (provided After School is able to find a voice for itself like it has for Orange Caramel):
Kaeun is so pretty that pennies fresh off the mint feel sullied in her presence.
Kaeun brings so much joy to the world that she’s often mistaken for a holy miracle.
Kaeun is the idol that this world needs, deserves and wishes for.
Kaeun is so great that Gatsby is looking for a new moniker.
In an infinite number of universes, Kaeun stands apart.
