Kim Hyoyeon is a South Korean idol singer, dancer and model. She is best known for being the best dancer in Girls’ Generation, and one of the more fearsome hip shakers in the genre.
K-Pop is an odd genre where one’s dancing ability can be just as, if not more, important than actual vocal or musical ability. Hyoyeon is one such idol who benefits immensely from that being the case. The resident SNSD featured dancer doesn’t get many singing lines as her voice is a little low, with limited range. But in a musical act where the choreography is critical, Hyoyeon manages to stand out in a group of nine, all of whom are some of the more precise dancers in K-Pop (as average as some of SNSD’s efforts are, their choreography is always pretty great considering that figuring out the spacing between nine members has to be difficult). The girl can do pretty much anything on a dance floor, and she looks amazing while doing so (as evidenced by her second place finish in her season of Dancing with the Stars). She’s also gotten immensely pretty. Considering that pop is such a visual experience, while it would be easy to dismiss Hyoyeon based on her vocals, it is damn near impossible to dismiss her based on everything else.
